Ever since Fortnite Season 5 started, portals have been popping up across the island, bringing with them crossover characters like the Mandalorian and the Predator.
We’re all curious about what we’ll see in Season 6, and many fans have formed their own theories. One prominent rumor is that we’ll see the return of Kevin the Cube in the update, and this has been promoted even by prominent YouTubers like Ali-A.
Kevin the cube was a Fortnite fan favorite from way back on the first-ever map. Since then, the game is now on Chapter 2 Season 5, and Kevin has yet to return. However, Fortnite player “duskyxlops” put on Reddit that he may be returning for Season 6 of the game.
The speculation comes after “duskyxlops” posted a picture of the Fortnite Season 5 map showing the locations of the seven portals. He drew lines connecting the portals, and with the help of a few extra lines in there, he was able to draw a cube. This was all the hint that fans needed.
As that season had a darkness theme, it’s now suspected that the various portals will be corrupted by some dark energy, perhaps caused by the Cube, which is also theorised to be the power source for the power plant in Steamy Stacks.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 Start Date
If there are no delays this season, Fortnite season 6 in chapter 2 will start on March 15th, 2021. In Fortnite, a season usually starts and ends on the same day. The previous season usually ends an hour before scheduled server maintenance downtime for the new season.
Either way, we still have roughly seven weeks before the launch of Fortnite season 6 chapter 2. This season started off with promise, but the last couple of updates have been average at best. It seems like this season is a simple way for Epic to make more money with their hunter skins coming in from different games.
Many of the commenters were immediately pulled in by this, and started forming their own theories of how the cube could make its return to the game. Some even started speculating that there’s another hint hidden in the game files.
“There’s sounds in the files for mechanical door opening sounds. The redacted bunker, Kevin the cube. Those two Spots lineup. Kevin is in the redacted bunker, I’m calling it,” said user ‘TonyThePapyrus.’
